Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

Helix's Leslie 145 sounds excellent out of the box, but it is even better with some improvement. The adjustments I did with my preset focused on the more authentic behaviour of mechanical Leslie. The first area of focus was to separate the Drum and the Horn, as in actual units, they ramp up at different speeds and rotate in different tempos too. To do that, I have used two models of Leslie 145 in parallel and panned speaker blend 100% separate for both the drum and horn. According to the sources, the horn rotates faster than the drum; hence I chose speeds as follows: Horn fast - 6.8Hz, which equals to around 410 RPM - the fastest reported horn speed I was able to find information on online. Horn slow - 0.8Hz, around 48 RPM - very consistent reported horn speed in chorale mode. Drum fast - 5.7Hz (342RPM) - is the fast drum speed on the lowest spectrum. As mentioned above, the drum is usually slower but rarely that slow. I wanted to simulate a loose belt on the drum, which translates to a slower speed and ramp-up/down times. The reason to go with the slowest reported rate was to get a bit more 3D tonality - if you want to simulate a well-serviced Leslie, I recommend upping the fast drum speed to 6.6Hz, which equals 396 RPM. Drum slow speed is set at 0.6Hz (38 RPM) - again, to simulate a loose belt, and this is the slowest reported speed measured on the real thing I found, with 0.8Hz being the fastest. The ramp time is also set different for the horn and the drum. Horn ramps up/down reasonably quickly where the drum, due to the loosened belt and the fact that it is heavier (more inertia), doesn't change speed as promptly, so it catches up slower. Lastly - I have used a 180Hz low pass cut on the drum side to cut on a boominess and added a bit of reverb. The setup is set in the way where EXP1 controls the reverb mix in 25-50% (personal liking), and EXP2 flips between Fast (tremolo) and Slow (chorale) speed. I am using this preset on Helix Effects in FX-loop of a real amp only, but I'm sure you will be just fine to apply this setup to any product from the Helix family I hope you like it.
