New Firmware Released - Where’s 2.0?
by Line6Tony on 2012-02-14 12:49:54

POD HD500 Flash Memory v1.43 and POD HD500 Edit v1.08

These updates address a bug which allows invalid data to be introduced to presets.  In rare instances recalling presets containing invalid data may cause intermittent high volume events, as reported by a small number of POD HD500 users.  We are targeting updates for POD HD Pro, POD HD, and their respective editors in the weeks following.  For more information regarding these updates please read the detailed release notes at: http://line6.com/software/.

POD HD500 Flash Memory v2.0 and James Tyler Variax Flash Memory v1.8

These updates were announced with a target for release sometime within Q1 (January-March) of 2012. Line 6 is still targeting these releases for Q1, 2012.  If you have not already done so, please register your device here and sign up to receive product updates here so that you are informed when these updates become available.

The bug fix in the last version was urgent and absolutely necessary as it may harm some users (the sound is produced at a really high level, even without headphones, it was dangerous), so thanks to Line 6 for this quick fix.

Now we're looking forward for the 2.0 update !

im getting more and more the impression, that my 400 wasnt really worth just the few bucks i saved compared to the 500, when it comes to service and features...

While I am a bit disappointed since I am really looking forward to the update (especially hearing the new acoustic sounds on the JTV with the new preamps in the HD500), I have to say that I appreciate the communication.  It at least gives us an idea.  Though clearly that could easily move in the Q2, but it is enough of an update to know that there is no reason to checking the board every day hoping for it to be released...yet.  ;-)

Maybe they're just spending some time to include a nice full parametric EQ

A full parametric EQ would exponentially increase the power of the HD series.  Sometimes I have a hard time believing that such a glaring omission did occur in a company that I always thought of as being so in tune to what guitarists and musicians need.....

I agree, I'm thankful for the information, it's going to be an awesome update.  Of course I'm anxious for the download, I mean it's almost the second coming of Christmas (If I'm being honest, this will top Christmas for me).  I truly appreciate all the effort Line 6 puts into trying to make a better experience for guitar players.

Hi, Tony,

Q1 is ending today, still no HD-flash v2.0 - update in sight. Any News? When will it be released?
