First of all, if you use phantom power on mics like SM58 you will most likely KILL the mic....

Phantom power is only for mics (like condencer mics) that require phantom power to operate.

Eventhough I never came to such a problem but let me ask you a couple of questions.

1) Which program do u use for recording?

2) Are you using Pod Farm? If yes, Did u check the levels on the mixer page of pod farm? Also there is a +18dB button that might be pressed. Check this as well.

3) On your DAW (recording software - Digital Audio Workbench I think) check your recording levels.

Ok my thoughts are.

I would like to connect my POD XT on my pc (usb) and my FBV Express MKI to the POD XT.

My question is. Can I send Midi Commands from the FBV thru the POD XT to sonar or guitar rig or podfarm 2?

Ok, I have read very carefully the MIDI Setup Guide and I think that I figured how to do it. Now my problem is this.

It seems that the each set in Sonar has 8 Tracks to be controlled, but..... KB37 has only four knobs and buttons... so in set 1 I can control tracks 1 thru 4, on set 2 9-12. or am I missing something?

Anyone knows how to assign the controls of pod studio kb37 to sonar x1?

been trying to do so but i only found instructions for a old sonar (8 I think) which is not the same.

In short No. You cannot plug 2 mics + 1 guitar. As you said only two inputs at a time. I have already written the input combinations you can have.

I checked Sonar and it seems you can record each input in defferent channels as well.

This "sound card" is not meant for live performance. It is meant for recording in your home studio each instrument separately.

Maybe the UX8 can record more inputs simultaneously, but I dont own it so I wouldnt know for sure.

Duh! I just saw that there are only Pod Farm Manuals on this page!!! If you dont have the manual let me know, I will search for it on my CD and if it is there I will upload it somewhere.

There should be a PDF manual in the CD. But you can find all UX2 Manuals Here

This is how I record on my PC:

1) I load Pod Farm or Gearbox and choose what I will record (Instrument, Mic or Line)

2) Load Sonar, choose a Track and Record it

If I want to record a live performance, as far as I know, I can record one Mic and one Guitar at the same time.

I do not think you can record all instruments at the same time.

If I am not mistaken, these are the options pod farm has:

Mic1

Mic2

Mic Stereo

Instrument

Line 1

Line 2

Line Stereo

and in Dual Mode

Instrument + Mic1

Mic1 + Mic2

Line1 + Line 2

With these options though you can actually record the two "instruments" on one track in, let's say Sonar.

I don't know if you can actually choose each instrument from within Sonar or Cubase.
